      Chasitty,

We haven’t bred Amazons in a very long time. The Blue Fronted make good pets as long as you get them right after they’re weaned.
If you still haven’t found one, we have a good friend that breeds them. They won’t start breeding until Spring. You can email us at:
windingwoodsranch@gmail.com and we can hook you up.

      Regards, Teresa

We are researching blue and gold macaws to see if one would be a good match for us. We travel to our lake house about eight times a year. It’s a 3 1/2 hour ride one way. Would the trip be too stressful for a macaw?
    Thank you for your help.

Absolutely not! Hand fed babies thrive when you treat them as part of the family. They love to be with you. It doesn’t take much time to create a loving and trusting bond. They are very much like children…. The more you put into them / the better they are.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call us at 706.340.0290/6643.

      Thank you.

Hi, my name is Lauren. I’m a zookeper (not an avian zookeeper), and have been considering a raven as a companion for a while. I have a love for all animals, and I think a raven would be a good fit with my lifestyle and personality. I do, however, have a large dog. And I’m wondering if ravens can coexist with different species. I’m more than willing to put in the work and ti.e training. But just want to make sure it’s possible first. The last thing I want is two stressed out animals. Thanks so much!

      Hello Lauren,
They do get along with dogs because in the wild they work side-by-side with wolves. When we raise them, we make sure we raise them around dogs simply for that reason! However, there is a limited number of them raised each year because they only breed in the Spring. We have an extensive waiting list.
      Thank you,
      Daniel Walthers
